| INFO: Coating methods for plastics |
|
Heat-curable coating systemsWe apply an extremely wide variety of transparent coatings in our large Class 1000 cleanroom. Components with dimensions of up to 3,000 mm x 2,000 mm can be coated here. The coatings are applied by means of flood coating. This method is used to manufacture components with absolutely perfect surface quality. The advantage of this process is that flooding produces a flushing effect and rinses off any remaining dust particles. This process allows application of a very thin film. It is used for coating of either sheet products or finish-moulded parts. Kirsch Kunststofftechnik processes all common scratch-resistant coating systems such as PHC587, AS4000 and AS4700. The plastics used are normally PMMA und PC. The coatings provide the plastics with a protective layer in addition to their existing properties. This layer protects the materials against scratching and damaging UV radiation. The coatings also increase resistance to chemicals. This is advantageous for many applications in the fields of mechanical and automotive engineering in particular. UV-curable coating systems
